London show & I'm back on the list.. for now
Hello, I've been off the list for awhile if anybody is still on here that I know - (hey Gavin!) Well, I've found myself going to London next weekend with nothing to do since the Throbbing Gristle reunion was cancelled. Got myself and the 2 others with me tickets to see the Orb Friday night with Mad Professor. Anyone else going? I'm hoping for a good show even though I hear B&T isn't great. When I saw Mad Professor with Lee Perry in Chicago many years ago, it was fantastic. If anyone is going and would like to get together beforehand and show some fellow Orb fans a good time then get in touch. Only been to London a couple times when I was much younger... -daryl _________________________________________________________________ Stop worrying about overloading your inbox - get MSN Hotmail Extra Storage! http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-us&page=hotmail/es2&ST=1/go/onm00200362ave/...
afternoon folks. there are a couple of Orb radio appearances on BBC 6 Music this week... 1. Wednesday, May 12th - THE EVENING SEQUENCE with Tom Robinson (7pm - 10pm UK time) http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/presenters/tom_robinson/ 2. 6Mix - Sunday, May 16th, 8-10pm UK time 2hour mix from Lx (nothing on the site yet though) ...you can listen to 6Music live at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/ ...but both shows are stored for the "on demand" service, so don't panic if you're not around to hear them as i'll be able to download them and let everyone know the direct link to use to capture the shows. cheers, --- Smiley __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Caught a little of LX on the show last night. Just grabbing the Real file that's been posted. For you Streambox fans the final link you will need is; rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/6music/sequence_wed.ra And there is now a little more info on the site about the 6Mix on Sunday eve 8) TTFN Billy P.S. I am also about to get redundancy at work. If anyone knows of any electronics, telecommunications, PC and networking support type jobs going or would like a quick, talented and eager learner to teach all about broadcast/PA electronics then drop me a mail offlist. UK, US, Outer-Mongolia, I am very flexible. Failing that just carrying LX's record box around would be fine for the summer ;) Smiley wrote:

Hey there Smiley, I was wondering if you could hook me up with the ip address and username/password for the Orb Audio Archive or other ftp sites? I have long since forgotten them, but I really want to hear this mix, particularly the Dr. Who song. thanks jon

I've got that sticker on one of my cd towers, might even have a spare somewhere - but I don't remember where I got 'em. I *thought* they just came in the cases for the cd, but maybe I got them in the post, or from a record shop. jon -- "The optimist believes this is the best of all possible worlds, and the pessimist fears this is so..." - H. hi.Yes these stickers were in the original uk 12" singles and the cd singles. The were a busness reply type postcard to fill in to join a Orb mailing list. Thanks for the info. Bummer: none were included with my 12"s and disc. Or else they were lifted enroute. =/ seek
