I think its a shame that this list has gone from actually discussing how great the Orb are to bitching about how bad badorb is. ----- Charlie Rose: The film [The English Patient] is interesting in that it's not the book. David Foster Wallace: That is difficult to argue with.
I think you'll find that if we had the Badorb releases in our hands, then we could carry on discussing how great the Orb are... Until that happens, however, we aren't left with any records to discuss about. Regards, Nick

I've got 13 of them in my hands (well, at home anyway) and a number of others have too. But there's very little talk about those releases, as soon as they arrive the topic moves on to "but i haven't got BOB(n+1) yet" rather than "ooh, isn't BOB(n) good" or "I don't think BOB(x) is as good as all the others" (IMHO x=13 btw) OK, they're invariably late - but unless you're planning a DJ set based on an unreleased record you haven't heard yet does it matter if they arrive late? And if you are planning a set around it, I don't mean to be too harsh, but you are counting your chickens before they're hatched.

How many do you want before you discuss them? 13 seems like plenty to me jon -- "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away." - Phillip K. Dick

Very true. Don't get me wrong (after all, the post relating to the MP3's was the first I've actually made on the subject), I love all the previous BOB's, and (hopefully) with the release of 'Bless You', there'll be a lot more discussion from those that didn't manage to get the required BOB's. Personally, my favourite has been the Electric Chairs' 'Barbie Girl' mixes, although the Loophead release comes a close second - wish I'd seen them at Glastonbury.

Very true (although I've only got up to BOB10 so far!) - I must relisten to them shortly...

Which reminds me, I must go & see 'Minority Report' whilst it's still in the Cinema! l8rs, Nick ;-)

They're some of my favourites too, along with 'Ow Much on the Creature EP. And Stuffed Hostage on Creature as well - they're both great "Mum-my, my teddy bear's stopped breathing" :) -- "Some people have a way with words. Others...not have way." - Steve Martin

The Creatures EP is my absolute favorite! I _love_ the bladerunner samples! I really dont have a huge problem with any of the other BOB's.. I find bob1 - 3 to get boring pretty fast, so I dont listen to them that much. 4 - 8 is my favorite stretch.. I guess its just coincidence that my favorite picks are grouped like that =) As for bob13, which was mentioned, I dont think its that bad.. its always good to have a change-up.. makes the collection more diverse :) --- Joe Topjian email: jtopjian@nb.net web: http://terrarum.net
