"Similarly, one of the most intriguing-sounding acts played to an almost empty field. Transit Kings brought together the KLF's Jimmy Cauty and the Orb's Alex Paterson, backed by Pink Floyd session musician Guy Pratt and soundtrack man Dom Beken. Their four-laptop collaboration produced a rich wash of surprisingly melodic electro, punctuated by Paterson's trademark echoey samples and even the occasional chord change. But it was the wrong place, wrong time." More at: http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/reviews/story/0,11712,1545469,00.html Did anyone see this show? Yup, I was there - sounded very good, minus Jimmy (who didn't turn up). They played "Boom Bang Bombay", "Oh Shit!", and a lovely track with the Chi-Chi's - looking forward to the album. Unfortunately, the timing was attrocious as it clashed big-time with the Ninja Tune set-up in the club tent, so most people would have been in there. Indeed, we left about 20 minutes before the end of the Transit Kings, so we could get back to the Club Tent to catch Hexstatic. If they had appeared on the Friday night, then it would have been a lot better attended. I've got some photos that I'll try and upload at some point - but need to find some time to do this! Cheers, Nick ;-) -----Original Message----- On Behalf Of egyptian zombie robot "Similarly, one of the most intriguing-sounding acts played to an almost empty field. I was there too. I thought it was damn good....I could of done without the stuff with the chicks singing, but it sorta made sense with the set. Not as trippy and orby as I would have liked it, but still a highlight of the fest.... On another note, I hung out with Andy Hughes and Greg Hunter last night.....nice guys. I think greg said he was doing some stuff with LX....I believe some more middle eastern sounding stuff.....didn't really want to pester him or Andy with Orb questions....I didn't ask about Thrash, either. I did hear some new stuff Greg was working on....sounded like Plaid to me....which is not a bad thing. Yer Pal, Gel-Sol www.gel-sol.com --- Stephen Wright <steve@donsolaris.com> wrote:

Ohhh course not m8, thats probably the last think they wanted to talk about anyway, was just wondering if it popped up in convo. And anything that sounds like Plaid has to be a good thing!!!! Although i prefer there more musical stuff rather than some of it which sounds like there doing a aphex twin impression. Gel-Sol wrote:

Don't be rippin on Plaid now. I swear, they've sorta overtaken the first spot in my musical heart from Orb. I understand what you mean, but its not more or less "musical" its just a lil blippier. On 8/12/05, Stephen Wright <steve@donsolaris.com> wrote:
