Landing -- HTTP://www.landingsite.net The Dirty 3 -- http://www.dirtythree.com/ Do Make Say Think -- http://www.southern.net/southern/band/DOMAK/ as to styles of music: well, i don't really like electronic music. so much of it is only for people who dance, and i am a damned Gringo and do not dance. so these bands are: 1. Cocteau Twins -- new wave band who were the progenitors of the Shoegazer scene 2. The Clash -- punk band who became pop 3. Superchunk -- indie rock/punk band 4. (this is where The Orb goes) 5. Billy Bragg -- marxist folksinger 6. The Dismemberment Plan -- emo band. but they had damned catchy songs, really! 7. Boards of Canada -- a keyboard band with beats that are vaguely dancey. 8. Do Make Say Think -- awesome post-rock/jazz fusion act 9. The Dirty Three -- a violinist, a guitarist, and a drummer. 10. Wire -- art punk 11. Landing -- psychedelic band. i think a lot of you Floyd-heads will like these guys. i also forgot to mention Miles Davis! (i chock this oversight up to not enough coffee.) seriously -- _Sketches of Spain_ is one of the most beautiful things ever recorded. go check it out....
