good show at bimbo's last night can't remember ever seeing them in a 'club' setting doors at 8 LX was already spinning. free bird was the surprise highlight for me... Fehlmann spun next--closing down LX's oxbow lakes. between the two probably 80 minutes or so of DJ sets. Then about two hours of the orb with the new visuals. IIRC, opened with traumvogel--my fave off the kompakt disc--with longtime orb classics sprinkled throughout the set. seemed a tad bit of technical difficulty when fluffy clouds stopped abruptly--either that or it was an LX goof as he seemed a bit manic having a generally great time dancing and prancing about. no worries though, he got it running again rather quickly. at some point, fehlmann left the stage. leaving LX to fill the rest of the evening. which he did admirably by spinning the sources of so many of the records that contain the samples we all know and love. seemed a tribute to st paddy's day what with LX playing the doobie brothers and finally when the place got really green towards the end of the night--sending us home with a little slim shady at midnight. --spearman (sorry for the funky formatting this 'puter keeps crashing and I'm tired of retyping)
