A word on Toxygene and "Little Fluffy Ass"
Little Fluffy Clouds is what it is and I'm sure that if I hadn't have heard it a million times, I'd dig it deeply enough. It sounds like an old-school Edison vinyl nowadays, but it's difficult to pull it away from the context of my experience with it. ABTU is a fine album indeed, and if you need proof, put on "Into the Fourth Dimension." Skip LFC and you've got a really good album there, even though LFC, like I said before, is surely good, though tired. As far as the accesibility of Toxygene with respect to the difficultness of Orbvs Terrarvm: Who cares? You've got to look at this thing on a case to case basis. The Orb brings their skill as musicians and engineers into almost everything they touch. It's like pornography: you know it when you see it, and sometimes it's predictable, and sometimes it's kinky and weird. One track might be for calm midnights, one might be for tooling around, being stuck in traffic, or getting loose on the floor. You've got to hand it to them: they've covered all the bases, and even invented a few on the way. Accessible? Maybe. But I'll never forget the sound of it, live in NYC, sweaty and shaking. You can't dog a steady pulsing rhythm, no matter how high above the rooftop you might like things most of the time. Terrarvm is great - Orblivion is great - ABTU is great - UFOrb is great - Pomme Fritz gets me smiling, and even - dare I say - Cydonia, when the time is right. So quit yer bitchin' about accessibility. Even the most accesible Orb track has some pretty heavy shit going on it, and it's difficult to explain to the insensitive. If they were that accesible, they'd be doing duets with Kelly Clarkson. That, my friends, is about as accessible as the sunlight in an open field. Think about it. _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam? Get advanced junk mail protection with MSN 8. http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
