I got to admit, I don't know what the hell is up with the first track of the new Orb, but the rest of it is pretty damned bumpin', to me! Come on! Hell's Kitchen, Gee Strings, L.U.C.A., Abstractions, Dilmun.... This album is damned solid if you ask me. It's a bit darker in flavor than past efforts, and no, it never gets to that Orby place where you think either your speakers or your mind are going to blow out, but I think it blows Cydonia out of the water. Cydonia was a damned train wreck compared to this one. My only criticism apart from that - the tracks don't flow together. Seamlessness is what makes the Orb great, but that's a question of editing, not content. And don't even think of telling me some of this stuff wouldn't sound great live! This album was built for the live treatment. Orb got lazy and tired?
