Yes there Is a lot of bitching about it..................I'ts a good album..........all tracks from the, wait for it......THE ARCHIVES!! It seems not a lot of people understand that? As for the person who said the LX/Thomas Fel' partnership was the best thing at the moment...well I'm speechless "Komfort" was a plastic piece of shit, don't get me wrong I love the Orb's work, I tried to find something good In Komfort but just couldn't. But then again I thought B&T Was quite good? P.S.The "After the love has gone" sample In "Mummy Don't" Is this Earth wind and fire- anybody know? Also On The KLF List they mention "Mummy Don't" Is possibly a remix of 3.A.M.Eternal?/Blue danuibe or something???????Anybody know???? "After The Love Has Gone" (in both "Mummie Don't" and "Chill Out") was sampled from the "Jesus Loves You" (aka Boy George) song, "After The Love Has Gone". Still have yet to hear that track... :-p -----Original Message----- On Behalf Of David Doree P.S.The "After the love has gone" sample In "Mummy Don't" Is this Earth wind and fire- anybody know? Hello well most haven't got very good memories.. um he he. Well Mummy don't comes from the tripping on sunshine sessions for which Jimmy and Alex recorded I think 4 songs and indeed this song is were 3 A.M. Eternal's riff came from , so the Orb were first. I read this in an interview in future music ( as I have posted before on here ). It might now be up on the archives on the future music website not sure. I posted it not too long ago either. I've been waiting for this track for damn near two (or is it three?) years. At one point, I was willing to trade all my Badorbs that I never got for what I thought would never be released. Makes the whole album worth it. 'Mummie Don't' is another great. I'm not all that sure about the second track with the female vocals. I think I could've handled it had they emphasized everything else (besides her) a bit more. Glad to see Yungle made it... So how about Okie Dokie on Kompakt? A damn fine album; can't wait to buy it. A few tracks already released but otherwise great new material IMHO. Not what I expected, but good, just the same. All in all I'd say a great move since B&T.
On Okie Dokie.. I don't know.. I gave it another go last night and i just don't like it. Maybe i am a spoiled brat, but i don't get that Orb spark when i listen to it. Hardly any funny vocal/sample stuff on there. Also i miss the clever rhythms the Orb was so good at on songs like "valley" for example. That's what i liked about the Orb, the 'strange' rhythms. You can hear it on extensively Orbus Terrarum and Orblivion.. Combined with heavy duty basslines it was THE sound of the Orb.. IMO gr, R
