That's the thing, I don't have much experence with changing realmedia. (I used to use soundforge to record the audio going through but no longer have the abiliy to do this due to my audio-in dying. I'm not sure of a way to change rm into mpeg files other than that(Realmedia is real paranoid and have nice little gadgets embedded to make it difficult or impossible to change formats.) If there are other ways I would like to hear from people who have this know how...cuz I don't. Another thing is with mp3 you don't get to see everyone doing their thing. That's what makes it worth downloading...(Like Alex doing a weird bunny-ear thing during Thursday's Keeper classic!) Hopefully someone with more gear than I can convert it to mp3 for us.
You could convert it to mp3 and then edit that, since thats probably >what everyone downloading it will be doing anyway

Streambox Ripper. It will convert RA files (audio only) to wav or mp3 (although my guess is that Ripper's mp3 codec probably blows).

To edit the stream itself, including the video, the only thing I know of is the pro version of the Real editing software; which is neither free nor cheap.

You don't need gear; just Ripper, and your mp3 encoder of choice, but if you want video, that isn't easy... Chris

You could also use Total Recorder from www.highcriteria.com. It will record anything that gets sent to your sound card. Just make sure to turn off the Windows sounds when you're recording. Plus it's only $10 or so to register.
