Has anyone heard of a musician getting cought for releasing music from a cracked copy of software?? ive got a few friends using such programs-and im sure many of the people on this list do aswell- - anyone got any info?
- anyone got any info?
There has been a story in the news of a European guy who cracked the copy protection code for DVDs so that they could be played on PCs. He was taken to court but let off this week. The arguement was that anyone who legitimately buys a DVD in a store should not be restricted on the method they choose to view said DVD. So basically, he won. The point was not that he was using software but that he wrote it/cracked it. Is that the story you mean? :) ~Paul
i was sort of thinking along the lines of cracked -cubase-nuendo-logic type programs - and whether people actually release tracks made from these cracked programs such as Paradox'- is there any way of knowing that a cd has been made via these programs ??? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Lloyd" <merciless@ntlworld.com> To: <orb@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, January 10, 2003 9:38 AM Subject: Re: [Orb] CRACKED MUSIC SOFTWARE

HOPEFULLY not. But if not, it's just a matter of time of course. I don't know about the illegality of releasing work made with cracked tools, but I would hazard a guess that someone would find a away to sue.
Sound Forge can include info into wave files. Check properties in the wave format in the prog, a person can include all sorts if info. Totally agree! ive never paid for any plugs or prog's - i couldnt affoard all the toolz i use day in day out. but then again i'm not worried about someone ripping the off my fav "little pink fluffy toon" and turning it into a hard house anthem! :) what goes round comes round i guess? BTW i still do the begging but only at weekends __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
