I second the new Four Tet. 'High Fives', and 'Sleep, Eat Food, Have Visions' are outstanding tracks. Untitled by Autechre is good, but you have to be able to get into their new stuff, (i.e. post-EP7). as is Awfully Deep by Roots Manuva, if UK rap floats your boat. - eric - http://www.xnlb.com/ On 6/8/05, JASON HICKS <ikki1@msn.com> wrote:

if you don't have it yet, get it. It's more raw than previous releases, but some of his best work is on here for sure. I like it better than Rounds in a lot of ways. Hopefully he'll tour the US again in support of it. Eric M On 6/8/05, Donk Henderson <slugdub@gmail.com> wrote:

Mighty good. Road to discovering Freaky C. makes for a good story. Basically, went to an outdoor rave that got busted (very dramatic, line of cop cars driving through field came over hill just as Simply Jeff was taking the decks) in Dallas, TX - '95 or so. On way home (brilliant, bust a rave and turn all kinds of druggists loose on the highway)(we were not driving impaired of course, I'd say "enabled") to OKLAHOMA (sing it, blah), friend had borrowed LM and we decided to give it a shot. It was definitely a case of Holy Living Fucking Shit as the music was awesome and we were treated to a brilliant - I mean liquid - molten - gold on layers of cloud - "high" plains sunrise. We must have played that CD 3 or 4 times, and were pretty much instant converts. We still refer to that day as "The Freaky Chakra Sunrise." T

Well, the Altavista worked!! Yeah, you can find some rare tracks on that thing too. I've found more than a few b-sides via altavista. As far as ambient records go.. Lustmord - The Place Where The Black Stars Hang I've been really getting into Lustmord. They've done some pretty interesting collabs with the Melvins and Bill Laswell.
