Whilst sorting through my mp3 archives, I have some questions based around the various promo & demo versions of Cydonia that seem to have appeared. I have the following:

1 - [feb 1999] Cydonia (2 x cd-r) 2 - [oct 1999] Cydonia version 1.0 3 - [dec 1999] Cydonia version 2.0 4 - The Cydonia Outtakes 5 - Cydonia (us promo)

Q1 Were 1, 2, 3 & 5 all official releases? If they were, was there any artwork included and if there was, could perhaps somebody share a scans with me for 1, 2 & 3?

Q2 The Cydonia Outtakes looks almost certainly like a fan created disc - is this correct?

Q3 Were there any other releases missing above?

hey folks. it depends on your definition of official, as 1,2 and 3 were all run off internally by Island - but only 2 and 3 were distributed as proper "promo" versions... ...as the first, 2xCD-R was a very limited run (band members, etc) of the initial edits of the potential album tracks, and not for wider distribution. i was given one of the sets, but sold it on ebay a few years ago when my wife was very ill and i needed the money (andy hughes hasn't spoken to me since then, sadly...). i think it went to a list member in the end...so thankyou, as the money it raised still amazes me now (and was put to good use). there was also a 4-track internal cd-r (not a "proper" promo) - taken from V1/V2, as they're the same on both: once more (4:39) promis (5:27) mile long lump of lard (8:38) terminus (11:00) in addition, there was a UK promo (dated July 14th 2000) with the same 13-tracks as listed on the US promo version (on MCA) from the same year... ...and also a 14-track UK promo (as 2000 promo + "EDM") that matches the 2001 UK release - or at least the "special edition". all of these came with standard Island black type on white paper inserts - no "proper" artwork. the cydonia outtakes is a boot, afaik. cheers, --- Smiley ________________________________ From: "nickwking@ntlworld.com" <nickwking@ntlworld.com> To: What were the skies like when you were young? <orb@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, 5 June, 2009 14:15:14 Subject: Re: [Orb] Unraveling the Cydonia promos & demos Think I've got Versions 1 & 2 lying around somewhere - definitely official.
