My pal Gel-Sol, whose MP3s I use as background music when playing Carom3D, but that is of no importance here and now, asked: .+.+. Has anyone heard Fehlmann's Low Flow yet? I heard it is good and not as .+.+. "minimalist" as Visions of Blah... And my answer is: No, didn't know he had a new disk, but as a matter of fact, I am a bit tired of The Orb and related products right now. I listened to the MP3 teasers of the latest Kompakt release and it sounded as Fehlmann, not as The Orb (liked the 'singing in the rain' tune though). THE Orb doesn't exist anymore, they should change names like Gong did decades ago and have a Thomas's Orb and an LX's Orb. The latest records are a bunch of unordened tunes from a lot of collaborators who all have happened to meet LX in the cafeteria (where he served some hot chocolate I presume). Not that they are all bad, B&T is even excellent at moments. Visions Of Blah on the other hand was all 'flow' but no music, quite a boring experience IMO. The Kompakt vinyls are no Orb, but Fehlmann trying to get an easy buck, sorry Euro, and LX enjoying the gravy train ride because he has to pay for his rent too. Maybe we sould all buy Gel-Sol records now and start discussing these... Felix PS: I would still give an arm and a leg for a genuine Blue Room 'long version' cd release with some extra collector goodies added on top...

I found it to be quite minimal and kind of boring, I will have to give a few more spins though. I did enjoy the new Hexstatic, and another Ninja Tune release called Rainstick Orchestra that covers Steve Reich's Electronic Counterpoint, which should sound familiar to members of this list. Loving the new DFA comp, just discovered Ulrich Schnauss' A Strangely Isolated Place and I must say it is outstanding. The new record by a dude called Chris Joss may be the best thing that ESL has ever put out, but then again I'm a Theivery Corp hater so I may be biased. Jason
Did anyone ever listen to the Morr Music compilation? I think it's called something like Putting the Morr back in Morrisey? good stuff. I just bought Low Flow today and am also finding it to be kind of simplistic. Nice though, but maybe best for listening to while engaged in some type of activity... I've been listening to the Kompakt 100 cds, which have some really super tracks on them, but also some dull or even unpleasant. Thanks for the other suggestions - the Rainstick Orchestra sounded a little new age in the samples on Amazon, but I do really like Steve Reich... --- JASON HICKS <ikki1@msn.com> wrote:

I heard a track LX was playing on some show earlier this year - pretty good - called Ein Jahr Ein Monat, by Maik Loewen - dnldable from Soulseek. Reminded me of the lowflow tracks, simple - just a little better..... -----Original Message----- Subject: RE: [Orb] Fehlmann's Low Flow Did anyone ever listen to the Morr Music compilation?
