Of course, you would generate a large image of yourself out of a substance of your making (modified polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons), that with the correct equipment could be viewed (and analyzed) from the far reaches of the universe. As they expected, we can conclude so much from this image: this alien is humanoid in appearance, it can move fast on two legs, has a longer kneck and obviously a bigger brain.
