I saw one cool label (fuck me if I can remember which one) that had a subscription service where you paid $9 and could download all you wanted. It seems the d/l's were all 128kbps mp3s and had no restrictions. I personally wouldn't buy anything that has to stay on my computer because I don't really listen to music on my computer. When I'm not eating up all my RAM running my ShoutCast servers then I'm using it as a music workstation to create or I'm ripping cds to mp3 so I can burn them to take with me. Most of my listening is either done in the studio room with the dj decks or in my van with my portable mp3 cd player. What I would suggest is a cheap subscription that allows d/l of 96kbps or 112kbps copies of songs. They sound good but not perfect and if someone liked the music enough to crave hi-fi they could then buy the full on cd as they should. <snip!>
