re: [Orb] I Need Music Recommendations.
Is there anything out there that will satisfy my needs?

No, dude. Rock and roll is dead. I think the last FSOL and the last Orb album prove it... I really wish I could point you at a magnificent album made in the last few years. Listen to Revolver by the Beatles and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and then try to come up with an album that makes that kind of overall statement. Here it is, BAM! the album. In a big way the first Orb album sits in that area. The only thing I can think of approaching that kind of overall excellence is Sea Change by Beck. From the production values to the sequencing that record is fabulous. But as far as trippy non-singing albums I don't know what to tell you. I wasn't that impressed with BOC. I mean it's neat in a mix but I don't think it holds up with BAM! kind of strength. Oddly enough I think the stuff you're doing, Gel, is well worthy of your contract with Emit. Very impressive and even fun to listen to. :) My next album will be really good but it won't be no Dark Side for sure. You'll have to do that. (p.s. I'm very affodrable for vocals...) ____________________ www.psychicreform.com ____________________ Washington Post: Why do you think Osama Bin Laden has not been caught? Thanks Homies for all the recommendations! While I've heard most of this stuff, i will search for the ones I haven't heard. Em:t does have some great artists (Woob, IPG, Gas), so I guess I'll dive into their stuff more thoroughly....the label should be hookin me up with their back catalog, so I don't have to steal, uh....I mean buy it. I hate to say it (cuz its been argued before), but Yoshimi by the Flaming Lips is one the best albums I've heard in the last few years...must be the prog-rocker in me. Right now I'm listening to Bola's Gnayse. And Alan, thanks for the kind words...the next Dark Side? That sounds wonderfully impossible! Yer Pal, Gel-Sol www.gel-sol.com
