On the S.A.L.T. track, the observations of the scottish man talking about the apocalypse are from a movie. I saw the movie a few years ago on IFC, but I couldn't find out the name. Does anyone know the name of that movie? Thanks --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Read only the mail you want - Yahoo! Mail SpamGuard.
The movie is called Naked and it's by Mike Leigh. It's a great movie - that scene is when the main character, who throughout the movie is essentially having a nervous breakdown, is rambling on and on to a night security guard in some building I think he randomly wanders in to. Love that track too. --- Giovanni Pezzi <pezwaldo@yahoo.com> wrote:

Thanks. This came to mind today because there was something on MSN about putting microchips into your pets so in case they get lost, you can scan them and the chip will give the finder all the information on the owner, etc. It's now becoming a reality for some people as well, so they can carry around their medical information, etc. The whole thing reminded me of the 'bar code' sequence in the song, and how he related it back to the number 666. alexis katz <atkatz@yahoo.com> wrote:The movie is called Naked and it's by Mike Leigh. It's intended to provide medical information ... but will it turn into a surveillance system? How would you like to have the equivalent of a barcode built into your arm? It would be convenient. A quick scan could save the need to show passports or ID cards. It would be handier than carrying cash or producing medical records. And a particularly clever barcode would let people find you if you were lost or abducted. 'Naked' is an ~excellent~ film, imo, as are most of Mike Leigh's works. seek
I think it's called "Naked"? At any rate, seen whatever movie it is - terrible movie, great track.... I just saw the movie "24 Hour Party People", and I thought the term was "Madchester". (just another tangent I guess) Saw "Naked" years ago. Kind of a hard movie to watch. Thewlis was great, but the character he portrayed made me a wee bit uncomfortable. Gavin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! "Madchester" is a phrase that a guy invented in about '89 and he now works for Manchester city council ( City hall to all you Americans). He is now responsible for making the city look better?? Anyway whos that bloke that said just bought Orblivion??? What's that about what the hell you doing on this list catch up mate , it's a great album. BTW Naked is a brilliant film :). Vex. n.p. That would be David Thewlis in the movie "Naked" by Mike Leigh.
