The US deal has been finalized although i dont have a release date... US album will have extra bonus tracks although as i understand not the same as the Europe release... But dont hold me to that yeah.
Well I feel a little better now, and I did like that track Abstractions. The Japanese version was just far too short. Jason _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Get 2 months FREE*. http://join.msn.com/?page=features/featuredemail
it sure does cost a lot to be an orb completist now-a-days...3 different versions of this album (US, Europe, Japan)??? what a joke... tweez --- JASON HICKS <ikki1@msn.com> wrote:

The problem is the Record Industry and different deals for different countries. The same problem appeared with 808 State's recent album, "Outpost Transmission". First, it got released in Japan with a bonus track, then in the UK without the bonus track, and finally in the US and Europe with 5 new tracks! Since 808 didn't have a record deal in the US, and it came out after the UK release, the record companies needed to entice the fans with different/exclusive tracks, and they also make decisions on which tracks to put on the album, depending on the reaction to the first release! It sucks, but there's not a lot we can do if we want all the tracks... L8rs, Nick ;-)

i agree with you but only as it pertains to large labels (or even medium sized indie labels). but from what it seems, the orb is releasing all the new stuff on small (or even new) labels. and i just dont think these labels really have the power to tell LX and company what should go on the album. i could see island doing that...but V2 or Hexus??? demanding a bonus track??? i just find that unlikely. i think its coming mostly from the band and that makes me sad. the least they could do (and maybe they will) is release a single from the album with the tracks everyone will miss if they dont get all 3 albums...otherwise i'm severly tempted to just do the soulseek thing... tweez --- Nick King <nickwking@ntlworld.com> wrote:

V2 is not a small label, and V2-Japan releases just about everything with bonus tracks (or, in the case of Underworld's back catalog, bonus CD3s). That said, the proliferation of different "bonus" tracks is annoying at best...it often means 4 different versions of releases. Japanese, US, UK, and mainland Europe, with the UK and Japanese versions having (different) bonus tracks to encourage domestic consumption, rather than cheaper imports. Blargh. I doubt it is the band, but rather business-driven demands from the labels. Chris np: Mindless Drug Hoover - The Reefer Song

ah, i didnt know that V2 was virgin. why won't virgin give it a worldwide release then??? is V2 just a japan division run by a seperate entity??? bastards...

i still think the band is responsible as well. but thats just my opinion. there's still other options out there available to them rather than what has transpired with the release of this album. tweez __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Well wha da fuck, I made a point to buy the Jap release knowing the US would be missing my favorite track, Now Here. Now I'm finding out both the UK and US versions will differ in their own way? Damn, Alex is making a killing off me this time, three albums? Damn. Someone provide links for the UK version when its available.
