I had first heard the Lips in college when "she dont use jelly" came out, and didn't really think much of them. I hadn't really heard anything by them until I got Yoshimi a few months ago. I got Soft Bulletin also, and I like it, but not nearly as much as Yoshimi...then I did the whole soulseek thing and dl'd all their old albums....not really that good, perhaps even sucky. I guess I like space rock alot, and prefer the more "electronic" sound of Yoshimi. But there is something intriguing about Wayne Coyne's optimism and good naturedness...if he came into contact with Kris, a giant vortex would open up and swallow us all into oblivian. And that would suck...literally....no, wait a minute....what was I talking about? The Lips actually get compared to Pink Floyd alot...nobody seems to want to claim that throne, and the Orb pissed that away circa '97-98. Oops! Did I say that?
