I'm showing my lack of time on the list but I had no idea that AAI was released in mono. Why? Are there any interviews concerning this you can point me to? My copy is definately in stereo. It's from Deviant Records DVNT12CD.
Also, does anyone know if Auntie Aubrey's Part 1 has been re-released in stereo?
I think it was just the first disk that was in mono. -----Original Message----- From: orb-admin@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:orb-admin@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Alan Sent: Tuesday, January 07, 2003 6:29 PM To: orb@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Orb] MONO?!?!?! This was the subject of a fairly involved discussion a few years ago...before the searchable archive, unfortunately. It went so far as someone explaining (in detail) how one could accidentally, without even knowing or noticing, that even if you were mixing in stereo you were outputting mono. IIRC, not all of the first edition of AAEBtCoD was in mono, just most of it. Alex's half of the TEXtures set is also in mono (done around the same time.) Jon Masciana wrote:
What the difference between the first UK version (mono) and the second version?
Different tracklistings, and a new mix, even where the songs are the same. Don Gagen wrote:
Keep in mind that the mono version is the older release of AA1. There are 3 versions in all. The 1st UK release, a 2nd revised UK release, and finally a US release. All have different track listings.
Actually, aside from cosmetic differences, the 2nd UK release and the 1st US release seem to be identical...i haven't done a detailed comparison, but the tracklengths are the same, at least. Nick King wrote:
Nah, seriously -been trying to get one of these buggers from Badorb (I believe you could only get it there,as it didnt seem to be availablein the shops-it's on Deviant, btw) as opposed to a refund-hasn't happened yet, but that's another story...
That's how I got mine (and my UK Bless You); I have yet to see the UK 2nd edition for sale anywhere else, even eBay. Chris
