This is the orb list, not an alt.binaries.fox.cnn.war.iraq.net.com.org SITE!
That's not a site. Its a newsgroup. Big difference. Does that one even exist? :-P
Can we just talk about all things Orb.
Well technically as this is an unmoderated mailing list, we can talk about anything we want. You can always delete messages which you aren't interested in, and so far people have been pretty good about maintaining relevant subject headers so it should be obvious to you which messages are off topic. I hate to advocate people leaving the list, but that's also always an option. Basically the answer to this, as childish as it may sound, is "We can talk about whatever the heck we want, and it's encumbant upon YOU to decide what to screen out." That's simply the nature of the medium.
We can watch all this shit on TV, FOX, CNN, BBC, whatever the station is, it will be on there. Why not just leave the war out of this list for the duration.
Well personally I find individual opinions FAR more interesting and relevant than the output of any bullshit news channel. So I for one say continue the discussion. You know stringer, it's interesting to me that so far everyone who has presented arguments against the war has been more than willing to talk about these issues, whereas you who support the war (I am guessing that you do, given your previous responses) seem to want to stifle anyone's opinion that doesn't match yours. Its cool if you want to disagree, in fact I would hope that if your beliefs differ from mine or others that you feel free to voice them, and I am interested in hearing them. But please be respectful of others opinions and dont try to to stifle debate. :) PS: For the record, the content provided by any and all of the news media outlets you listed above does not count as "debate" in my book. In fact I would be more inclined to listen to what is said on this list than what is said in any news media outlet... _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963

You guys can say what you like, but I wish you'd leave the war out of this list. There are so many other places where you can express yourself about it, as well as hear other peoples points of view. There's no need to believe US media, go read Robert Fisk of The Independent, or perhaps French and Russian media have a different spin on it. I do not think for one moment that wishing this list to be vaguely on topic is the same thing as suppressing discussion on the war, nor not paying sufficient attention to it.
