Just wanted to thank this all you listless listies. As big of assholes as you all can be at times (except Thrash, he gets a day pass) you have enriched my life. I went to a more technically inclined friends house last night and he fired up his dusty FTP for me and soon his puter' was whirring to live the ambient & dub sounds that LX and his cohorts provide. I have yet figured out how to burn them to mp3 VCD so i can run em on my new fangled dvd machine, or better yet, onto wav so I can hear em on my ghetto blaster5x00. Clarification please.... You see, I was on the list several years ago and returned for I had missed both the music & moral (rolls eyes) guidance it provided me, oh, so long ago. The biggest draw was (and is) , having hit a dead end musically, being able to querie the queers on list for ideas. Although none of ya'll mother fuckers will listen to mine (i.e. Wevie Stonder:Like Ween catching Weatherall backstage in there coke stash and forcing them to record voices at gunpoint ) ahem.. .anyhow... while my posts are usually ignored, this simple question brought in a mountain of mail. People suggested Autechre, Orbital, Meat Beat, Kind Crimson, Eno's Airports & Apollo also Aphex Ambient Works vol 2. I pursued them w/ my usual furvor, except a few I pussed out on (like FSOL, Kratwerk, alot of the more obscure Autechr, orbital and king albums, I cannot fucking stand Spiritualized so....). I am very thankfull since this eventually led to my becoming a full fledged Warphead. So, as hard as it is to say.... I am grateful to you all for your recommendations, when you are bickering about musci I am feverishly scribbling the names down on scratchpads. Gems I have uncoverd: Eno albums like Discreet Music (crank up them strings until my speakers clip) & Cool the warm jets. Any thing w/Fripp on it. Actually just playing 6 degrees of Alex Paterson is fun. Orb to FFWD to David Bowie Heroes in a few moves. I also enjoy a lil Kenna, Leftfeild, Brothomstates, N.O.W. (except that fuckin mind elevation, its worse than Confeild), Blue Erster Canada and Lyte Funky Ocillator, ( I saw Manitoba and gave them 60 seconds to tell me why I should buy up in flames, I was wearing a Broadcast T and they sd cuz they were like them and blah blah, eventually I bought it cuz it was same label as Clinic who i only sorta like). anyhow, thats it for new music for me now, thanks listees, I do need help getting some Merzbo (did some1 say garden of evil or Bondage album?) Kraftwerk, and more Godspeedish shit, but ummm speedier... thanks Matty _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself with MSN Messenger 6.0 -- download now! http://www.msnmessenger-download.com/tracking/reach_general
