OK, so I don't know much about Hackney but the Gods are smiling on us and my mate met a girl at Glastonbury who does live there. Funnily enough they met in the Glade and got it together grooving to Loophead. That's universal consciousness for ya! She has this to say about places to meet in Hackney; <snip> Just read Billy's bit - Ocean has a bar attached that fronts onto the street - that would be the easiest place to meet but it will probably be rammed because it's quite small (and poncey/lush depending on your perspective). Best bet (and only decent pub I am aware of within walking distance from the venue) is called 'The Pub in the Park'. It's on the side of London Fields - if the weather is nice it would be a nice place to chill out in on the Sunday too as they are relaxed about taking glasses out into the park. It's on Martello Road, very close to London Fields train station BR from Liverpool street - not far. <snip> In the absence of any better options, Pub in the Park sounds like the best bet. All those in favour say 'aye!' See you all there. Aye. Thinking about it, if someone is willing to bring across a package for me of CDs from ESL Records that I'm ordering from the States, they can have the spare bed and use of facilities i.e. food/weed/TV etc for the night or whatever.
