Re: [Orb] off topic WAR (my last post on this topic)
"I agree war is terrible and ugly. I contend that this instance *denied the reality*, all media reported the contents of the video, that is enough." I don't agree that it is enough. Since Vietnam our media has refused to show anything but long shots of war dead. As a result the American people believe that war is like a video game and the bodies don't bleed, bloat, and rot. They have no concept that people's sons and daughters are being torn into pieces and have died slow and agonizing deaths. They think it's like a video game where the dead vanish after a little while or like a tv show where there is almost no blood and no one ever has to deal with the dead. This war is stupid and sad (as is all war) but the sanitized version we get from the mega-corporations that feed us our news is nothing but "smart bombs" and cruise missiles and happy natives welcoming their saviors. We could really use a good, heavy dose of reality. People are being crushed and killed as I type and it's being done in my name. I really don't appreciate it at all. I also felt that the American media should have shown the carnage of 9/11. Soft focus distance shots is not the reality of the horror that was committed. If the pictures of horrible death had been broadcast here they would have been seen around the world and may have stopped someone from considering the path of terrorism. Instead we get pictures of the incomprehensible mound of rubble, long shots of the smoking buildings, and shots of frightened people running overlain with waving flags and heroic firemen. Now we're pummelling a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 (unless you buy the weak statements made by the Bush regime) and everything to do with oil and Shrub's daddy. "Your sensitivity is astounding!" Yeah, the warmongers that try to hide the truth are so so sensitive. What crap. I want you and everyone in the world to know how utterly astoundingly awful any war is. Especially one as insane and unwarranted as this. Sieg Heil Bush if you want. Not in my name, though. www.psychicreform.com Who let that monkey in here!?! Dada is dead. Watch your overcoat.
