OT: personal masturbatory listening pleasure
iTunes is Mac only. There *ought* to be something similar for PCs, but I have no idea if that's the case because I've used Macs since 1986. Except for that one time I tried to run FreeBSD on a PC... but that was still not Winders. The Java and PHP and MySQL answer seems to be the best result I've gotten. I have complete control over the features, functions, and results, and it's quite useful for streaming. I've not found ANY software package available as Freeware OR Shareware that has been anything close to what I want. Incidentally, iTunes also pulls from the CDDB, and it's very easy to change the ID tags for each MP3. I import every CD as I get them, so it's only a hassle when you first start entering each CD one at a time. Once you've got your collection in the database, it's far easier. My iTunes.xml file is over 10 megs, with 7800 songs at nearly 80 Gigs of space. I forget how many days of music that is. 50? Anyway, hope this helps. -Brian
