Ah yes, the dreaded QT playing mp3s in the browser. And yeah, one of the reasons I'm not real keen on Flash as a development platform is because of the basic browser features missing in it. It's creates some un-usability. However, this site was more of a project for me, than I'm gonna make it universally appealing to all. So, this is how you can edit QT prefs to get rid of it playing MP3s in the browser for you: Uninstall it... Haha just kidding. Open QuickTime. And click Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences Browser Plug-In should be loaded in the drop down first. Click Mime Types and take away QT's ability to run anything but quicktime. Just click the checkmark next to the file type and remove it.go thru all of them, there is only a few that I let QT do. Basically I let it run anything that I don't already have another player for (winamp, windows media, tha player (divx) ,etc.) Click OK when you're done with that. When you're done editing the Mime Types, use the drop down menu, and select File Type Associations. Click the File Types button. Repeat the un-checking of the file types like you did for Mime Types. Click Ok when done. Then, X-Out of the Prefs panel. Close QuickTime. And reboot (just in case). Afte that, QT should only pop up in the browser when a QT movie is played (.mov). And I didn't mean to make you feel bad, about the way your computer is set up. I only learned the above steps from having the same damn experience and having to figure out a way to make QT stop it. I love QT for video on the web, but that's it. I don't even like it for video on the desktop - unless when of my Mac friends sends me their latest expirment in stop motion animation or something. Live on... And have fun. xoxo, .eric http://xenlab.ezrpm.com/ ________________________________________ { egyptian zombie robot party machine } { http://www.ezRPM.com/ } { experimental beats for experimental living } { every monday night, 9 pm } { only at Back Booth -> downtown orlando, fl } ________________________________________
