I think the main difference between "old Orb" and "new Orb" is the use of samples(loops). Listen to AHEGB (album) and you see what i mean: 99% sampled stuff. The combination of these samples contribute to an o(r)bscure mix of flavours. New albums like Cydonia, OkiDoki and on, do not have a lot samples stuff. I am not claiming the old days are better, but certainly different.
