They've had the station 106.7 here in Dallas since late in the summer. It's the only long term dance music station we've ever had to my knowledge. They only play what I would call "mainstream" dance music. It's kind of funny that their target audience is 18-to-34-year-old Latinos who prefer English-language music. Most of the people listening to KDL that I know have no Latin background. I really hate these franchise style stations. They are the reason why US radio has no variety. At least KDL is not the typical MTV/Top 40 play-list I here over and over.
FYI, I have been listening since August and there has been no Orb or System 7. :(

Subject: [Orb] New Radio in LA
103.1 the former Groove Radio and MARS-FM has
started playing dance music including electronic
music. Their going under the call letters KDL
and sounds like its on automated for the time
being. "We're playing 10,000 songs in a row"
or something like that. Over the weekend they
were announcing that that former station has gone
to another home on the dial. Not sure where this
will lead to, but maybe an outlet where we can hear
some Orb, System 7, Thrash, to name a few.
*fingers crossed*
