Hey thanks for the advice guys.... I listened to some Ash Ra Tempel last night...not bad...not great...repetitive krautrock. Alot of the stuff mentioned I already have: Hillage solo stuff - kinda new age and gei, but i still like him. Hard to hate hillage after hearing You and Angels Egg... Eno - Done that. Brand X- like a couple of tunes. The Police - first favorite band. Rick wakeman solo - some good parts/some very cheesy parts. maybe cuz bruford is on a few tracks. Not a big Alan White fan. Chris Squire's "Fish Outta Water" is IMO the best Yes-related solo album. I like how squire (in 1975) chose to use bruford over white, after all they were possibly one of the greatest rhythm sections of all time. ELP - I really liked everything up to Brain Salad when I was a teenager. Now ELP kinda creeps me out. (I still dont mind the first album) Too many "Emerson Triplets." I recall listening to Tarkus recently and thinking this was the biggest pile of shit ever due to their pompousness....BUT... If you wanna know what I think is the worst prog album ever, listen to the self-titled album from STARCASTLE. They basically wish they were Yes, kinda sound like Yes too....but in the worst way possible. Its like some dude drawing your caricature at the amusement park. It makes me laugh every time it pops up on my iPod. Yes had a thing called SUBSTANCE. Starcastle had a singer who was in REO Speedwagon. I also just heard "The Power to believe," the latest release from King Crimson...I have to say that I liked most of it. Kind of electronic in places. Anyways, thanks again! I'd also like to recommend people go back and listen to their Police albums. I don't know why but I'm recommending it.
I like the Zenyatta Mondatta LP for "Voices Inside My Head." I remember hearing a really cool house mix of that song. Very nice.
