I still haven't heard the new album of the Orb,but I don't believe that doesn't sounds like the sound of the band.Everybody,I mean all the groups has changed the style of making music but they still remains as the same name. The Orb maybe is searching the new way of making music.Alex did that back in 1991 when he released "The adventure's of the Orb...", than "UF Orb" and nobody nothing say at that time.Maybe the new album need's some time to came down on earth, maybe is dedicated to the new generation to explore this way.Who know's? I don't realy know if there will be any answer by Alex Paterson. He is a doctor...remember that, and he knows what is best for the music. The only song that sounds orb-ish is "The Land of Green Ginger"... And maybe a little "Tower 23"... The rest sounds like Thomas Fehlmann/Aphex Twin/John Roome/Sun Electric/Badorb stuff... :-( "From a Distance" is not that bad, however it doesn't fit into whole album... And 3 tracks are totally useless: "Orb Is", "Now Here" and "Abstractions". BTW. Did you know that in Poland there is travel agency called "ORBIS"??? ;-) -- == gry dodawane do czasopism ================= http://www.markolf.fr.pl == == http://members.tripod.com/markolf ======= complete fluke discography == _______________________________________________ Orb mailing list Orb@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/orb
