Only problem with Ogg is that I can't play them in my car mp3 player or my mp3 discman :( Hopefully that will change in the future! :) I'm going to have to try ogg for these live mixes to see if it suffers from the same gap problem the mp3's do.. lance ----- Original Message ----- From: <mlist-orb@theory.org> To: <orb@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: July 29, 2002 1:57 PM Subject: [Orb] Ogg Vorbis
After reading the discussion about mp3 and gaps and such, I am wondering why people on this list haven't started switching over to Ogg files??
Better quality, intelligent file format and free (no patents, licenses, or cost). I've been using it to encode all my music. Using a quality setting of 4.99 I get files that are usually around 130 kbs and sound better than my LAME encoded 192 kb mp3s.
I'm sure people have heard of this format by now. If not http://www.vorbis.com/
