Being a complete and total breaks fiend I couldn't resist weighing in on this topic, and point out that electro means different things to different people.  You could be talking about Afrika Bambataa who started the whole damn thing in NYC in the early eighties, or you might mean the classic electro with a capital E produced in Detroit in the late eighties.  Or then there's the whole freestyle/ Miami bass scene in Florida that Don was referring to, which was spawned by the monster track "Don't Stop the Rock".   Hell, I've even heard people use the e word when referring to Kraftwerk.
Personally I just think it's a descriptive term/ style of the larger breakbeat genre.  If you are in to checking out some new music that has electro "elements" check out Tipper on the Fuel label, and anything in the last two years by Si Begg (aka Buckfunk 3000 aka S.I. Futures).  Depth Charge (can't remember the guys real name) has also put out some quality electroish sounds, as have Uberzone and Freq Nasty.  I myself am not familiar with the electrolux label so I hope I'm not misdirecting you, but it sounds like I should check it out.  I also have a soft spot for the really old Afrika Bambataa and Kurtis Mantronix stuff from NY.  Hope my meandering helps!

this response reminds me:
i honestly cannot differentiate much in the way of electronic genres
real quiet seems to be ambient
and, being from chicago , i recognize house
but most of the labels make no sense to me whatsoever
for instance, i know i don't like anything under the trance card at reckless
but i am a huge fan of morrocan trance
and wtf is idm anyways?
i like some of stuff in that bin, but some of it is just flippin presets gon horribly wrong
me, i glop everything not by long-dead composers (classical) under pop and leave it be
