<< A MAGIC ORB MOMENT: >> okay, fair enough. in 1993 i had a crappy job in a modem factory in Alpharetta, north of Atlanta. it wasn't really too strenuous - i pulled parts from inventory for people to put together. i had lots of time for playing with the computer, and i had complete access to Usenet. i have been a diehard Cocteau Twins fan since about 87. searching for related music led me to "ambient", which i had never heard of living in The South. and that led me to The Orb. i read a ton of posts about their "new album" _U.F.Orb_, and i eventually tracked down a copy. it took me a while to get that CD, but i finally found it in the "dance" section of the Towere Records here. i remember i got it one chilly rainy day in March, 1994. the rain turned to snow as i sat in my apartment and listened. serious snow in fact. which is wierd enough in Georgia, but even wierder in mid-March. so, there you go: i remember sitting in the dark smoking a cigarette and listening to "Towers of Dub" as the snow came down..... been hooked ever since...... PJK please don't hate me because i can't type..... --- All the cool kids are doing it: HTTP://www.EvilSponge.org
