Im still digesting it, so I don't have a detailed play by play, but overall I'd give it a big thumbs up! Its not at all like Okie Dokie in my mind (which I also disliked). The first half is very classic orb ambient, but not as sample-heavy as ABTU. The latter part of album picks up some nice grooves, but doesn't turn into that Fehlman style which I find monotonous after a while. None of the tracks grab me as a favourite yet, but there are a lot of likes....
A bit taken a-back that no-one has disected the new album yet like as before on here? Can someone please tell me is it worth a buy? A keen Orbster myself and being an honest one,I tend to purchase the albums just on the strength of The band name(Is that bad?) But and a big but,"Okie Dokie" pissed me off, played it,then sold it on. Malicious Damage bill it as harping back to the days of Orbvs T................?...I think i read that on the launch party leaflet, which may I add was 'kin brilliant and both strange also,I thought the white hoody thing was tounge in cheek, but for the filming on the crowd.......Just a bit surreal entering the venue at 8.30ish to be greeted with most people at the bar head to toe in "Crime scene suits"-you people who attended will know what I mean! But that didn't take the shine of the nighy-LX and Thomas played a good set, started off pretty ambient then turned into some classics, and dare I say bangin tunes? And that doesn't reflect on the 30 sec snippits I've caught on i-tunes of BB? Sorry to be so long winded but is it worth a buy? Smiley, anyone please? ---David.
