It is a Francois Truffaut film and they all tend to follow that pattern, but I personally love them like that. As for the story itself, obviously it's far fetched, but I think it's a fascinating notion nonetheless. I'm sure I've heard records where dialogue is sampled from the film.
For anyone unaware, the story is about a future world where books are banned and 'firemen' no longer put out fires but find and burn any illegal books owned by citizens instead. The name itself is taken from the temperature required to burn the books.
I find Moore's theft of the name a little corny, though when you consider the big fight which happened on this site about whether we should be listening to dissenting voices, then perhaps it's not so unsuitable.
