I've got an external Maxtor 200Gb which rattles back and forth between home and work everyday and it's been 100% reliable for over a year now..... Mac...but its a lacie 200 G external. And its a mechanical failure. "Click, click, click."
The fucking thing broke less than a day after i bought it.
I know it doesn't help you now, but do not EVER buy the Maxtor 200GB drive or the Lacie external 200GB, as that is the drive inside. I had two in a row go South on me, the latest only a few weeks back with the same dreaded click click click. Those drives are CRAP, and my buddy @ Apple confirmed the same fact (they disqualified those drives due to early failure). Apparently that was just a bad drive, and it should be avoided @ all costs. _jason_ _________ ________ _______ _____ ____ ___ __ _ _ _ _______________________________________________ Orb mailing list Orb@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/orb Report list abuse to list-abuse at studio-nibble.com
