Am I the only Orb fan that loved Cydonia? I
especially loved the leaked demo version (I thought it was sequenced better and
some of the mixes were more interesting...) I got off of Napster right before it
died. (A moment of silence for the best file sharing service
ever...) Cydonia's radically different from all that came before it but I
don't think that's a bad thing. I just thought I'd fish for opinions on
this album. It's weak in places but still has more than its fair share of
brilliance. And I'll be at my local record store buying the next one that
comes out without hearing it, probably. And I'm completely
enamored of the Thursday Tea-time shows as well (thanks you guys!). One or
two days a month I walk all day putting flyers under doors for my contracting
company and they're such a treat. So are the fabulous live shows...
gush gush gush.
Which brings me to Soulseek. I haven't had a
lot of success with this program. The searches are very slow and often
don't work at all. The program itself seems to malfunction quite
often. Of course, that could be my computer but it still blows. I
tried Win-MX but it's very complicated. Just when I started to figure out
Audiogalaxy it went south. I used to run Kazaa-lite but it's so
variable. Frankly I feel something like the CR ftp is the best all
around. The users' taste in music is so fabulous and I've learned of a
bunch of artists I probably never would've. It'll be sorely
missed.
If any of you have advice on making Soulseek work
well or lists of users (can you search for individuals like Napster? I
can't figure that out with Win-MX) or stuff like that, please post them.
And kudos to everyone who contributed to the three
word thread! That absolutely made my day!
