David said: | This is amazing... When I subscribed to an Orb mailing list, the last thing that I expected to encounter | was a flame war started by healthcare disagreements, followed by a flame war directed at someone | that was a MEMBER OF The Orb!!!! FA: Yeah. But he started! (sorry, could not resist that comment) | We all have something in common. Something inside of our collective brain is *different* than most | people. What percentage of people in this world could listen to Orbvs Terrarvm and appreciate the | beauty and complexity? FA: With the exception of the first 3 tracks I find nothing on OT 'beautiful'. I find it quite disturbing but also annoying in places. But like I have written on a draft for an Orb website that I probably will never publish I understand the 'take no prisoners' approach of the album. It didn't compromise like B&T and Cydonia did (those sing along songs, blah). It is more Wagner than Mozart if you prefer a classical comparison. It is an 'interesting' album, but not the one I prefer... | The point of all this bull shit that I've been writing is that The Orb is a truly wonderful thing. The Orb | has consisted of a handful of different people, each adding their own spice to the mix, and there is very | little Orb material that I do not enjoy. Please, lets make this community a little less... competitive? | argumentative? annoying? FA: The thing is: nobody (or only a very small minority) in here has seriously discussed the latest Kompakt Orb release, the new remixes disk or Fehlmann's release. I find that strange, the Orb makes three new 'records' and on the orblist we discuss about politics. Well, we don't discuss actually, we flame and we insult. We are more and more becoming those two old guys from the Muppet show. I only hope that LX isn't Kermit though. So who will write a critical review on the latest disks then, anyone? Felix
