I got this in my Xmas stocking (how did Santa know) and feel you can split the album into two halves. The first two tracks are average but then when the third kicks in I was ready to rip this CD out and go about it with a blowtorch. All I can say is brothomstates gives me hope that I too can easily make better music on my stylophone and it will be more popular than this. Luckily a quick click on the skip and the rest of the album opened up as highly acceptable. Nothing really groundbreaking here but I'm glad I have it in my collection. I have a bit of a soft spot for Dorset Perception in whatever form and that ain't even my fave Shpongle track. Wish they'd done Monster Hit, then again, maybe not... Anyone care to give some impressions over the new Shpongle remix CD that came out in November? I haven't heard or seen it yet. My friend passed me a 10% 'share the wealth' deal after buying it for himself and I'm tempted. Slightly low on funds right now so I'm willing to put it off if the album isn't mind bogglingly good, but I'm sure I'll get around to buying it sooner or later.
Really disappointing unfortunately :-( Not up to par with the other Shpongle material = the remixes do not do the tracks justice at all. Couple of tracks are OK, but nothing I was really that impressed with. I'm just waiting for the new Shpongle album... That should have some nice stuff on it (release date unknown by me)... _jason_
