Try a pyrethrine based spray or powder. It's made from chrysanthemum flowers and organic gardeners also use it control aphids, whiteflies, mites, etc. I was able to kill off a bad flea infestation with that and kept them away with Advantage 80 applied directly on the cat (which is a great product). Pyrethrine is strong stuff and can cause toxicity in animals if overused. Googling around I found one case in which a small child had symptoms of toxicity so if you're really sensitive I would use gloves and a mask and air out the room. Good luck! -----Original Message----- From: orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of -<(:: jason ::)>- Sent: Thursday, October 16, 2003 9:44 AM To: Orb_ Subject: [Orb] OT: Flea hell (help!) So having a cat in my house for about a week (he's gone now) has created a catastrophic flea infestation in my shag carpeting. I've tried a natural option ("Flea Away") with no real results. So now I'm onto either exterminator or I've heard thorough steam cleaning will get the fleas and eggs. I'm concerned about pesticides since it is my bedroom and I am sensitive to chemicals. Has anyone experienced such a problem and if so how did you remedy it? Any help or advice would be great! Thanks! _jason_
