Yeah good faith ... just like when I returned another one of BadOrb's incorrect shipments at my expense with their promise of reimbursement. Still waiting on seeing my money out of that one.
Oh well, the MP3s are good since you can at least listen them. No way in hell I can listen to my BOB10 which arrived smashed to hell. As always, I'm still waiting on a response from Garpoopoo on how to get a replacement vinyl (my success rate is 0 asking for cash, so what the hell, maybe I can get another vinyl. Oh damn, they only make the vinyl according to the original orders so now what will I do ?? Oh I know, just wait until the re-issues arrive).
I don't doubt you've had problems, but I thought I'd balance the scales a little by telling a story of my own. I've had a subscription since BOB1, but the first few 4.5 records took ages to arrive. Then BOBs 5-9 took even longer. I assumed they would arrive eventually, but they never showed up, so I mailed garphoo to ask if they'd shipped yet (i wasn't on this list then, so didn't know whether others had received them). I sent a mail to garphoo@badorb.com (the address that the announcements come from) but got no reply, so I tried again to sales@badorb.com (the address on their invoices) and got a very quick and apologetic response, and within a few days had BOBs 5-9 on my doorstep, and the TOGs followed. I know this doesn't help you with your problem, but from my experience I think they deserve a positive review.
So by all means, please support the BadOrbs folks by tossing your money their way. Who knows, maybe one day they will get enough orders to finally afford some decent packaging for the products. Oh I forgot, they already charge enough for decent packaging. More than enough in fact. I think the word robbery comes to mind.
I've had no problems with the packaging, all the BOBs have arrived in good condition. It's a shame the same can't always be said of records I order from elsewhere. Maybe I cut them some slack, as it's probably quite a small operation, and I'm willing to forego perfect customer service and efficiency because I'd rather deal with a small artist-run independent than with the big record labels. jon -- "Those who don't understand UNIX are doomed to reinvent it, poorly." - Henry Spencer
