anyone got any names of ambient bands like orb- fsol worth checkin out?
hmmm.... well, off the top of my head i would recommend: - Loscil (dub -- vaguely orby) - Pub (very similar to Loscil) - Spacetime Continuum (especially _Emit Ecaps_ -- good mellow ambient stuff) - Biosphere (really ambient. _Shenshou_, his latest, is great though) - Single Cell Orchestra (i only have a few tracks by these guys but i love them. i can't find the album anywhere though, if they even have one...) i am also very fond of the _Excursions In Ambeince_ series that Astralwerks put out in the early 90's. introduced me to a lot of good stuff, and there are a few Orb remixes on it. well, that's all i can think of right now, sitting here at work, pre-coffee. e-mail me off list if you would like to trade a mix CD of ambient stuff.
