Battersea Elvis? I've only heard a taste of this track and would like to hear what you got off the soundtrack. I'm having trouble getting into your ftp, though. Is it Elvis/Elvis or elvis/elvis? Battersea In America we would just tear the old power station down and build a shopping mall... No, wait. We'd still have it running at 100% capacity burning the most sulpher heavy coal on earth because it is "grandfathered" out of the emmissions laws and the kind of people that own such dirty, nasty things have usurped control of our government in a bloodless coup. But I digress... I'm just curious as to when the weather is clear enough there to give at least a marginal chance of success. The idea of the people from Cirque de Soleil being involved in the production of a show would be really cool. I've played a lot of shows during Mardi Gras in New Orleans and having a lot of people in bright costumes doing wild things makes for a very good time. I once saw four or five people leap onto a stage at the beginning of a song (they were just in the audience), one was a tall, beautiful woman with a wrap around tatoo who dropped her coat to reveal nothing but a leather harness, one was breathing fire, one (or two) was juggling, and another was on a unicycle. They danced and performed for the whole song (the woman did some pretty wild things with a beer bottle) and when it ended they hopped down and left. The singer from the band (a girl dressed like a bad Catholic school girl) stood there dazed for a few seconds and then said, "Wow. That was neat!" At one of my shows (performing with a samba school) we were rolling along playing a traditional samba and a Klezmer band marched in on us with about two hundred more people. I got them up on stage, dropped a microphone into the tuba and started playing my guitar. It was awesome. The Cirque de Soleil people might also have the money to get the ball rolling so we won't have to have expensive admission to pay for it. Not to mention that they probably can arrange this kind of thing without even trying. There's no reason not to be ambitious about the final form of the festival. Let's just try to make it free for us list people ;). Maybe we could just line up dj's with the requirement that they work some Orb into their sets. This would make it easy for those of us that spin cds, heh heh.
