I'm sure a lot of you are really into indie & foreign films like I am. I most recently saw "Garden State", "A Home at the End of the World" & "Donnie Darko - Director's Cut" (twice actually). I thought I would tell you about a website I discovered about 4-months ago. It is www.filmmovement.com <http://www.filmmovement.com/> They offer DVD's of films of interest that usually have not been theatrically released or were shown at art-house theatres for a week or so that may have been missed. The guys who put this together were the ones that produced "Sling Blade" (excellent) years back. I joined on a monthly subscription for $19-month & the four films I received so far were all excellent. Here is some info from the web site: Overview:
From the producers of Sling Blade and You Can Count on Me, Film Movement allows everyone to participate in new releases regardless of where they live. Film Movement's Curatorial Board includes directors of top film festivals such as Lincoln Center, American Film Institute and South by Southwest, among others. Participating films represent the diversity and quality of film in the U.S. and around the world with most having won awards. These films are exclusively available through Film Movement.
Mission Statement Film Movement is for anyone who does not want to miss out on outstanding films because of where they live. Most films do not receive a national release despite critical acclaim and awards at Cannes, Sundance and other top film festivals. As a result, most of us don't get to see many of the year's best films. Film Movement is changing all that. Anyway, I have been very pleased with this service & thought I would pass it along.
