I actually enjoyed matrix reloaded. I just like to zone out to really glossy special effects and hybridized animated fighting. That one scene where Neo fights off hundreds and hundreds of the same 'agent'.. I dig that stuff. I think of the crew who put the expression and detail uniquely on each individual character. Brilliant piece of computer graphics.
I agree there was plenty to enjoy, but that fight didn't do it for me. Unlike "bullet time" which is real photography, the "Burly Rumble" as they called just looked a bit too CGI for me. In fact there are bits of the PS2 Enter the Matrix game which look better to my eyes. I just like very minor geeky stuff like the keymaker, the mountain fortress, the "power-suit gunslinger" guy at the entrance to zion, and for every moment of overwhelming crapness ("I just love you too damn much") there is another cool bit like "return to your exit points, agents are coming" or Agent Smith going "Me, Me, Me..."
The story has plenty of cheesiness, and it gets a bit self important. A bit much on the crackpot philosophy, absolutely.
I liked disc 2 of the soundtrack, there's a long track on the extra disc which I think is Don Davis and Juno Reactor. It sounds really great on my big speakers (not that I ever get to use them these days) -- http://homepage.mac.com/mihalis68/PhotoAlbum6.html
