I don't know what all the bitching is about. This is good clean
fun. I don't see how you can take anything this Orbish and turn
it into actual negativity... as it is positive and calming by nature.
I suspect that the ones whining are the ones that didn't even pay
for the record, in which case who cares, you didn't loose anything.
Because if you did pay you'd have your lil trinkets to pine over and
wouldn't bother us with gripes. Just a theory. I know I didn't
pay, so I'm a winner either way :D
And just to reitirate, the reason why "Mummie Don't" sounds as though it was
a leftover from "Chill Out" is that (in all probability), it *WAS* a
leftover from "Chill Out"!!!
Oh, and the reason why "Pluto Calling" sounds as though it was a leftover
from "Space" is that (in all probability), it *WAS* a leftover from
"Space"!!!!! :-p
These are archived tracks, not new ones!!!!!

>I'm listening to it now and it's f-ing brilliant! I'm not one to start
flame wars, but for anyone to say the whole album is crap is an ignorant
comment or just elitist snobbery. Maybe you don't fully understand that
tracks like Mommy Don't, and Pluto Calling were made when House Music and
sampling was still in its infancy. The first House record was released in
1986. The first use of samples in House was by Todd Terry in 86 or 87.
Ambient House was basically invented by the KLF and Orb around 87 or 88.
These tracks might be dated by today's standards, but at the time they the
bleeding, freaking edge of the genre. It's hard for me to understand how
anyone can listen to these tracks let alone the whole album and call it
crap. It reminds me of when people saw the first impressionist and cubist
paintings and called them crap.
Orbsessions was meant to be crap - it's a compilation of old rejected songs.
I like some of the tracks (Mummie Don't, Pluto Calling, Yungle or Eurofen),
but most of them are crap (especially Steel Horse, Something Like, Sun Of
and 73.5) and one is not Orb at all (Sail).
I wonder what crap we will find on Volume Two...
