If it's any
comfort, I saw both the Terrarvm and Orblivion tours in Dallas. Sadly, the
latter was where they -opened- for the Chemical Bras. and so the place was full
of frat fucks, etc. Hardly any dancing occurred during the Orb - not
possible with everyone standing there watching the Bras. bob to the DAT.
Not on the beat, necessarily, IIRC. But the Orb show itself was
great. Happily, the Terrarvm show was mind-blowing. I greatly
enjoyed meeting LX at a DJ gig a bit after that and telling him how much I
thought Terrarvm and the show both totally rocked....
So...I think
Texas might have a chance? Denver, where I ended up?
Yeah...hrm. Let's say they do 8-10 dates - NY, DC, Chicago, SF, LA, maybe
Seattle - ok then what? Portland maybe, maybe St Louis, maybe Dallas (or
Austin, I bet that would be good crowd) gets squz in? If they do like 3 US
dates, on the other hand, I'd guess anyone not in NY, SF, LA is
hosed....
T
"Fuck you,
we're from Texas." - stamp on white label versions of South Side Reverb
"Reverberation Remixes" 2X12 (no I don't have it, only saw it
unfortunately)
"We're from
Texas; it's beautiful." - The Grid, Texas Cowboys (not sure of sample source, if
it is a sample)
The Corporal would be fine for his songs, but if he's
throwing down over Little Fluffy Clouds, then it changes the atmosphere
completely.
Personally....living in Texas, far far away from the UK
and Europe, I would still like to see a full blown Orb tour here close to
me. I thought we might get one with 'The Dream', but it didn't
happen. I want LX, Youth, Thomas, Tim Bran, Steve Hillage; maybe
Miquette as well... a proper Orb tour with System 7 opening. If you
could get Jah Wobble and/or David Gilmour involved, think of the halls they
would fill....even here in America.
Peace - out
