There is one particular sound the Orb uses in their music that I'm dying to figure out. It's somewhere between a hi-conga hit and a wood block. Unfortunately I can't find a good example at the moment so, never mind :).
I know the one you're talking about, i think. (It's nice, isn't it?) Apparently a lot of the sounds that the Orb use are recordings which have been digitally treated and messed around--certainly back when Kris was in the band there was a lot of play and processing involving natural noises like trickling water and the like, which Alex has said contributes to the unique texture of the Orb's music.
Does anyone know a link to a page that shows the Orb's equipment?
Alex hasn't ever been much of a gear-head. Andy was the gearhead when he was in the band and he gave a list to Future Music if i recall correctly, about the same time he was appearing in ads standing over some Korg synth or other. All my mags are in storage right now so someone else can dig it up. :) Kwook -- --- --(--( - - http://www.kwookyworld.com/ - - )-- )--- -- - _______) ICQ# 11029830 : e-mail womble@it.net.au (_________ Kwook on the musickal loose!
