Hi, Well for me there are a few good memories.
Firstly quite a few years ago when i saw The Orb at The Event In Brighton
and The Pyrimid Center In Portsmouth the tours were somewhere between The
first album and UF Orb.At that time there wasnt a better live experence.
They played for ages the halls were packed and the vibe was really strong.
Moving into later years the band had moved on experementing with different
sounds and also a change of line up.They were still great. Also in the early
years it seemed that many of me mates couldnt get into them.I think they
felt the sounds were to weird...i thought it was amazing they thought me
head was fucked....
Nowadays with the internet and Orb lists etc met a few more people and going
to see the Orb is a total top day out.
I will always look forward to the gigs and also a good chance to meet a few
faces. As for the later shows I thought the Bad Orb Allnighter was
excellent. They played 2 good sets the first one i will always remember just
watching Steve Hillage playing along..just how it was in the begining still
a great guitarist . Also the Dub Room was just brilliant< Loud Roots Music
that was really good and when The Orb came back on for the last hour or so
ther were a couple of new tunes and a really good version of Toxygene with
Emminm samples banging through it....Oh for a live recording of the whole
show..They will always be great memories..,on a lighter note ill never
forget Nicks face when he ordered 3 Red Bulls and the geezer said that'ill
be nine quid ........Fantastic Regards Mark W.
