-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 So called "Digital Rights Management", which is the "industry" term for this, is CRAP and I encourage everyone on this list to think about it before they buy in to any of this stuff. Mandatory "DRM" on new computers is being seriously considered my Microsoft and computer manufacturers, much of it is already built into Windows XP and Windows Media Player. Mandatory "DRM" will kill the US computer industry, plain and simple. It will force *broken* hardware and software, and encourage institutionalized (legislative) monopoly. You have the right to USE your *own property* -- that CD you just bought -- unrestricted by draconian software restrictions. Sorry to rant but at least think about the practical rammifications of such a system -- moral opinion and politics aside -- in the end, its making the user's life more complicated and restricts their ability to listen to the music and to turn their friends on to the music. I'v been working n a method which would allow ppl to DL an image(cdda)(protected) of tracks / albums which can then be played only on the PC where th DL went. however this still dosent stop direct audio copying. unless, the image is crippled. (allows ppl to listen not reproduce) all getting complex.
